Growing up Fruity Pebbles were a MUST in my families home. Tons of little colorful pebbles in a glass bowl of cold milk. Each bite containing a crispy taste of pure fruity amazingness. And I mean who doesn’t love Oreos – especially the Golden Oreos. Now don’t get me wrong I appreciate the chocolate but the golden are just a change of flavor and still have the same soft, delicious cream filling. I’m seriously drooling just sitting here thinking about all of this.
Moving on…SO take that Golden Oreo cookie goodness and mix it with some Fruity Pebbles and BAM…Golden Oreo Fruity Pebble pops. I want to make sure I warn you that these are addicting. I seriously made an entire batch and had to take them to work. I basically sat and cried in my cubicle listening to everyone talk about how amazing they were.
- 2 Packages of the Special Edition Fruity Crisp Oreos
- 1 package of softened cream cheese
- 2 bags of vanilla morsels
- Box of Fruity Pebbles (specifically 6 cups)
Begin by taking the Fruity Crisp Oreos out of the package and simply admire them…
Once you’ve ate a couple, let the kitchen soak up the fruity aroma, and kicked yourself for not buying an extra bag…you are ready to begin!
Begin breaking the Oreos in halves putting them in a food processor or small blender
“Puree” the Oreos until they are complete crumbs
Something to note about these Oreos if you have made regular Oreo pops before…These cookies are much thicker than the chocolate ones. Just be sure to scrape the bottom of the holder as it can stop the blade from spinning.
Take 2 cups of Fruity Pebbles and also puree the Fruity Pebbles
Add the Fruity Pebbles to the bowl of crushed up Oreos
Next add the block of cream cheese to the bowl and using your hands begin folding the Oreo/Fruity Pebble mix into the cream cheese
Once the cream cheese has soaked up all of the cookie cereal goodness, begin rolling the mix into little balls
You can make them whatever size you choose. I rolled them small enough that it made 25 pops, which was perfect for me! Once you have rolled them all up, pop these babies in the freezer for about 20 minutes. They will harden just enough that they can be dropped in melted vanilla without softening.
Next melt the vanilla morsels in the microwave in 30 second intervals until completely melted. Take a pop and drop it into the melted chocolate
Roll it around and make sure you cover it completely!
Then drop it in the remaining 4 cups of pureed Fruity Pebbles
Roll it around in the pebbles and place back on the wax paper
Once you have covered all of them in chocolate and Fruity Pebbles, pop them into the fridge for about 30 minutes. Whether you choose to eat all of them on the couch or put them in cute little containers as a little gift, they are amazing. You will not regret making this recipe. I just can’t help but wonder if adult Gabrielle loves these, what would kids think of these? The outside has that crispy vanilla-y coat and when you bite into it, it’s so soft and full of so much flavor. It reminds me very much of a real bowl of Fruity Pebbles after about 5 minutes of the pebbles being in the milk…some are still crispy…some are a little soft.. TRY them!!!
